On Thursday, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, stated that the country is strengthening healthcare services by striving towards an integrated health policy while inaugurating the National AYUSH Mission Conclave organized by the Ministry of AYUSH in Delhi.

He stated that by pairing up modern and traditional medicine, India is striving towards establishing multiple systems of medicine on a single platform, facilitating cross-referrals and enabling true integration of different systems of medicine.

Furthermore, he commended the ‘Heal by India’ and ‘Heal in India’ initiatives by noting that these initiatives were well-received across the world. He added that due to these initiatives, there is an increased inflow of patients from around the world who are traveling to India to receive treatment. He also added that there is a rapidly growing demand for medical professionals from India trained both in modern and traditional medicine globally.

The Union Ayush Minister, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, stated that they partnered with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to integrate the potential of Ayush into a pluralistic system of integrative healthcare. In addition, he stated that plans for integrated Ayush hospitals and new Ayush clinics in various regions of the nation are in the works to make Ayush services more accessible and affordable to the general public.

During the event, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal launched two information and communication technology initiatives, dubbed AHMIS (Ayush Health Management Information System) and eLMS (Education Learning Management System), in the presence of Mr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Minister of State for AYUSH.
